A fitting day to do this post, as today it has been 76 years since the attack on Pearl Harbor. We visited Pearl Harbor on our last full day on O'ahu. Kyle wanted for us to go as he went there before (seven years ago today!) and talked about how memorable it was. He of course wanted us to see more of the sites there, but as with the most of our trip, we had so much that we wanted to do that we basically ran out of time to do it all! We had run to the North Shore again that morning to get one last look at Haleiwa and eat at Kono's again and shop (and finally stopping into the Dole Plantation for some souvenirs there!), so by the time we got back to Honolulu and down to Pearl Harbor, we more or less only had time to tour the Arizona memorial. We wanted to see all the other Pearl Harbor museums, but we were straight up told by the Park Service that we would not have the time for it. We did get lucky and scored some earlier Arizona memorial tickets since a tour group failed to pick them up in time (and this helped us get the rental car turned in on time too!)
Due to the high security protocols at the Harbor, Kyle opted to not take his camera, but I brought mine along and was able to get some shots that we can share here with you to remember this important day in our history.
